Durasein is an acrylic-based solid surface. It’s roughly two-thirds natural minerals (alumina trihydrate) and one-third high-performance acrylic resin with pigments. Its composition gives it strength and consistency throughout the material. How does Durasein compare to Corian or HIMACS? All three are premium acrylic solid surfaces with similar core benefits – they’re non-porous, repairable and thermoformable. Durasein has a strong colour offering and positions itself around design flexibility. The choice often comes down to specific colour requirements, project specs or brand preference.
