Staron Staron is an acrylic solid surface made by Lotte Chemical in South Korea. In production since 1992, it’s a reliable, well-tested material with a broad colour range, strong design flexibility and solid performance across both residential and commercial projects. It works across a wide range of applications: kitchens, bathrooms, reception desks, wall cladding, healthcare environments and more. And because it’s solid all the way through, it can be repaired if it gets damaged rather than replaced. We fabricate and install Staron for projects across the UK. Get in touch to discuss your brief. What makes Staron a good choice? A broad colour range on Staron offers a wide colour selection, with options ranging from clean whites and neutrals through to stone effects and more textural finishes. Because the colour runs through the full thickness of the sheet, there’s no surface layer to wear away. What you specify stays consistent over time. It’s easy to keep clean Staron is non-porous, so liquids sit on the surface rather than soaking in. There are no seams for dirt to collect in and nothing to seal. It holds up well to regular cleaning and is a practical choice for kitchens and anywhere hygiene is a daily consideration. It can be shaped into complex curves Staron is thermoformable – it can be heated and shaped into curves and three-dimensional forms. That opens up a lot of design possibilities: curved reception desks, bar fronts, bespoke furniture pieces. If the brief goes beyond a flat surface, it can handle it. Damage can be repaired on-site Because Staron is solid all the way through, surface marks don’t reach the colour. Scratches, minor stains and small areas of damage can usually be sanded and buffed back on site. It’s also 100% waterproof and impact-resistant, so it doesn’t need much upkeep. Class B fire rating across the range Staron holds a Euroclass B-s1, d0 fire classification under EN 13501-1 across its entire colour range. That’s a practical advantage for commercial specifications where fire compliance matters. Read our complete guide to Staron Staron colours and finishes The Staron range covers a wide palette of colours and finishes, and it’s a strong choice when it comes to naturalistic finishes: stone-inspired effects, sanded matte tones and textural patterns that sit comfortably in both residential and commercial settings. It’s a range that works well where people want the look of natural materials without the maintenance that comes with them. As with all solid surfaces, the colour runs through the full depth of the material. There’s no coating to chip or wear away, and the finish stays consistent over the life of the installation.
